THE SIMILITUDE OF A DREAM

Tengo que decir, después de solo 2 escuchadas, ambos discos, realmente han excedido mis expectativas, se corona para mi como el mejor concept album de mis tiempos, y gotta say, está muy muy a la par con clásicos como The Lamb y Thick As A Brick, yeah I love prog and this is why.

Es largo, aventurero, immersive, buenos guitar riffs, hammond riffs increibles, exciting themes, arreglos, ese nuevo y excitante juego de voces, la manera del interplay de los músicos con sus voces es increíble (ya Neal lo ha hecho, pero esta vez es distinto), todos cantan muy bien (menos Portnoy) además que los demás son músicos y compositores increíbles, el cual han ayudado a Neal a hacer un álbum more cohesive, el songwriting de Neal siempre excelente y probando cosas nuevas, el mix impecable, la producción ni se diga.

Hay prácticamente de TODO en estos dos discos, desde solos jazzeados, heavy riffs, coros, saxos, músicos invitados, una influencia Genesis inevitable y deliciosa, incluso el arte del disco me recuerda mucho Nursery Cryme.

Se que seguirá creciendo en mi cada vez mas y mas, un musical journey que nunca quedará para mi en el olvido, Masterpiece!

"8-Bit Mobs" band in the works!

I'm directing some proper music for our first set list, ranging from classic to modern Nintendo game music, as I am writing this I'm assembling a band with fellow musicians friends and gamers, and yes! We are starting to work on the parts, Metroid music is very crazy I should say.

Our first concert is around the corner this year, it'll be our launch as a gaming music cover band, It'll be fun no doubt! I'm thinking in learning to play new instruments for this, a Ocarina! yeah! I have to buy one to begin my own practice sessions. In the guitar department, I can be a lil' bit sloppy but with a good warm-up I can still go on track I think. We all are looking for this day, still we do not know the exact date of the gaming event we will be performing, for now, time to learn all those gaming themes!

Here I leave you my dream line-up:

Still not all musicians confirmed, but hey! this is a step forward right?
